Join Us In Building The Center for Jewish Life

Please join us in building The Center for Jewish Life, an extraordinary new place for learning, gathering, and Jewish living in the heart of Miami.

It’s your chance to influence Miami’s Jewish community and the surrounding county in the years ahead.

Stories abound about how Miami’s earliest Jewish pioneers built everything from synagogues to hospitals after they first arrived here in the late 1800’s. It was an exciting time because everyone had a say in what both Miami’s Jewish community and Miami-Dade at large would be like.

Now, over a century later, it’s your turn to determine our future.

Miami has changed so much since those first pioneers arrived. We are a destination for people from around the world, who come here seeking everything from sunshine to safety. Miami-Dade’s community — Jewish and non-Jewish — is colorful and pluralistic, and growing significantly each year.

The Center for Jewish Life will address all of our 21st-century needs. The campus will include a modern sanctuary, outstanding schools with the high-tech features that children need to thrive, state-of-the-art athletic facilities, and flexible gathering spaces. It will be a magnet for community — a place where everyone can take care of themselves, body, mind, and soul.

We’re ready for a project of this magnitude. We just need you.

We hope that you’re excited about being a part of Miami’s future, and that you will choose to participate in The Center’s capital campaign.

Shape the Future

Our surrounding community is growing, and with this growth there is a clear need for a place of spirituality and inclusivity. The Center for Jewish Life will be a community-centered, all new campus designed to serve as Central Miami’s premier venue to gather, play, learn and pray.

The Need

It has been more than 30 years since The Roads area has seen such a community-centered project. Now is the time for meaningful change, not just to honor our legacy but also to impact future generations. The 2014 Greater Miami Jewish Federation Population Study revealed that the Jewish population in Central Miami was experiencing an explosive growth. According to the study, most of the emerging Jewish population was made up younger families who resided in the Downtown, Brickell, Key Biscayne, Midtown, and Design District areas that straddle North and South Dade.

Our Leadership

The Center for Jewish Life would not be possible without the support and dedication of distinguished community leaders who have joined its mission. We are honored and grateful to have the guidance of the following individuals who serve on our various boards and committees.

Partners & Supporters

“I have been a proud and active member of the Beth David and Gordon School family for the last 15 years. As my sons get older and all of us will be experiencing different stages of life, my #1 priority is figuring out how Judaism stays relevant in our lives and to create a place that everyone in my family will want to spend time. The answer is The Center for Jewish Life. I want The Center for Jewish Life not just for my family, but for any person or family who would enjoy and flourish in a space like this.”

— Karen Coppa,
Chair of the Advisory Board

“Now is the time to focus resources on creating a safe and inspiring campus for Jewish people and our allies. Let’s do this now. Let’s do this together. Let’s create a beautiful home away from home that nurtures our bodies and souls, educates our minds, and provides a spring board for serving a wide range of individuals in need.”

— Stephanie Ansin and Spencer Stewart

“Now more than ever, we need to feel supported and united as a community; we need infrastructure to support the vibrant Jewish life that continues to grow in Miami’s urban core, and we need a place to ground growing families. Now is the time to create a sense of permanence and sustainability for our community. The vision for the Center for Jewish Life Miami gives us hope that there will be an anchor in the urban core for Jewish life to flourish for generations to come.”

— Marissa and Shawn Amuial
