Chag Pesach Sameach!

If only leading a Jewish life nowadays were as effortless as singing “Dayenu.”

But modern life presents challenges. It can be hard to see the fundamentals of Jewish life that we are grateful for at the end of “Dayenu” — Shabbat, Mount Sinai, Torah, the Land of Israel, and the synagogue — in our day-to-day lives.

We struggle with lots of distractions. In a world where boundaries such as the work-life balance have been blurred, we often feel as though we don’t have time for a spiritual connection.

We also need room to welcome new people and new perspectives. We in Miami come from around the world, bringing with us a multitude of approaches to how to lead a Jewish life.

The Center will give us one place where — in new, modern, highly individualized ways — we can return to the fundamentals that we express gratitude for in “Dayenu.”

We’ll be able to observe Shabbat next to the lovely rooftop swimming pool, experience personal revelations during heartfelt chats in the cozy coffee bar, and delve into Torah in inspiring programming. Our promised land will include an athletics field. Our temple will welcome everyone.

The end of the Passover Seder concludes with the hope, “Next year in Jerusalem.” This aspirational phrase can mean many things, from the concrete to the holy. For you, this year, may it include high hopes for The Center for Jewish Life.
